Results: Contested Ypsilanti Township Primary Races

There were a two contested primary races in Ypsilanti Township on Tuesday. 

Brenda Stumbo won the Democratic primary run-off for Ypsilanti Township Supervisor.  Stumbo garnered more than 71-percent of the vote in beating Cheryl Roberts.  The incumbent has no Republican challenger in November's general election. 

Heather Jarrell Roe won the Democratic primary for Ypsilanti Township Clerk, defeating write-in candidate Monica Ross-Williams.  There is no Republican challenger in November's general election.

Stan Eldridge won the Democratic primary for Ypsilanti Township Treasurer.  There is no Republican challenger in November's general election.

There were a host of candidates running in the Democratic primary for Ypsilanti Township Board of Trustees.  John Newman II, Gloria Peterson, Debbie Swanson and incumbent Jimmy Williams Jr. received the most votes and will not face Republican opposition in November. 

Brad Hine, Tajalli Hodge, Darrell Kirby, Jeff Neel, Brad O'Conner, Star Smith, and David L. Streeter all won nominations for the Ypsilanti Township Parks Commission and will go on to the November ballot.
