A familiar name is throwing her hat back in the ring for a seat in Congress.

Former Saline Mayor and State Representative Gretchen Driskell is announcing her decision at 9am on Wednesday to run, once again, for the 7th Congressional District seat.  The Democratic lawmaker lost her bid to unseat incumbent Republican Tim Wahlberg in one of the hardest fought and most expensive congressional races in Michigan last fall.

Driskell blamed her loss last year for the congressional seat on a lack of Democratic voters turning out in areas of Washtenaw and Eaton Counties.

Driskell served seven terms as mayor of Saline and two terms as 52nd district State Representative.  Driskell says she is a strong advocate for small businesses, working families, public education and the environment.
